Author: Cody, H. A.
A now little-known Canadian author, Hiram Alfred Cody began his writing career when he was a child in New Brunswick, collecting news stories for the family-run newspaper.
Eventually, Cody became an Anglican priest and took a position in the Yukon, which is where this novel is set. He used his experience among the people of the frontier to generate characters and situations that genuinely reflected life in the world around him. In accordance with his ministry, he also wound a strong Christian message into his stories.
